How did you get your first PC?

I had to have one for school, got it in 2002. It was a toshiba satellite, 128mb of ram, a super slow celeron something processor, and had xp. It is still kicking around and working, I used it for about 3 weeks last year when my last laptop died, and before I bought the current machine.

My dad gave me his old Packard Bell PC Windows ME, I played midtown madness on it all the time.

I got my first PC about 14 years ago. I did not know what a window was. Every time I tried to close my computer, a message would come up, saying there are windows open. I could only unplug it from the wall to stop (it all)
I paid $700. for it. 2nd hand. That was a lot of money then. After a while, I got internet connection. I had never heard of virus, nor antivirus programs. Nor did I have a Firewall. And I tell you the real truth, I had a lot of problems with that computer.
