there actually was a DOS 7 believe it or not -- it was the IBM PC DOS which was 100% compatable with MS-DOS.
Maybe IBM at that time was way ahead.

Most of the edition name sounds as tweaked one!!!
this time Microsoft gonna win the race by announcing tweaked Edition
(atleast by name) of Windows 7 before any one does it!!!

Who cares! let the MS produce only one edition and we will make almost 100+ editions out of it according to our availability and constraint.
this happened with XP and vista and this will certainly happen with windows 7 too.
we will have our own edition.
