School computers are not intended to be powerful, they are for school use not game and multitasking use.

    Hi there
same as a lot of Office computers --most businesses have a fairly long time before changing equipment.

Long gone are the days where you had better gear at School or at work -- it's totally the other way around now and is often very frustrating to take 30 mins to perform a task on obsolete gear that would take you 5 mins at home on your own machine.

However if you really want schools to always have top notch gear then you'd better be prepared for a really HEFTY HIKE in your income tax -- and who would be in charge of procurement, installation, servicing etc etc.

I'm not getting into that one.

    Cheers

Aslong as they do what you need to do in school, there's no problem.

It certainly does not help matters that many colleges/schools/universities -- and I've seen quite a few -- employ complete incompetents to run their networks...Oops !

I'd take a larger monitor to work on at school/college/university any day than a faster computer

It was one the news a couple weeks ago ..
That a student was expelled for doing something that the school did not like ..
(as viewed by the spyware ...)
Even though what he was doing had nothing to do with the school.

I can't help wondering who they think they are ... Judge and Jury .. Or just God ??
And why were they watching ???
