We can hope it does not develop. Looks like the low pressure area just south of the gulf coast is not going to develop; I should have good weather for my trip to Destin. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

In 2004, we were without electricity for 17 days. We had a generator to power the lights and we could run the bedroom window shaker a/c. We couldn't run the main ac, though. We could run the microwave if we turned off the bedroom a/c. The generator used 10 gallons of gasoline (petrol) per day.
Fortunately, we had an artesian well so we had water and flushed the toilet with a bucket. We had bottled water supplied by FEMA for drinking. We ate lots of MRE's! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

Hurricanes are the exact reason why I only lasted 3 years in Florida (2006-2009). I only faced 2 nasty tropical storms, both were only 5-10MPH from being a hurricane. I didn't face any flooding or anything where I lived. I just couldn't take the storm after storm after storm that could be "the one". | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHz Motherboard Asus P5Q PRO Turbo Memory 4GB DDR2-800 Graphics Card MSI Radeon HD 5850 Sound Card Creative Labs Audigy2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 225BW PSU Corsair HX650 Case Antec Nine Hundred Hard Drives (2) 1TB Samsung F1, (2) 1.5TB Samsung F2, 1TB Samsung F2, 2TB Samsung F3 |

I grew up in Florida; hurricanes are just part of the landscape like earthquakes on the west coast, tornadoes in tornado ally, and blizzards in the northern tier of states. I wouldn't trade the hurricanes for the blizzards. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

It seems like every area of the US has some type of disaster for that region. I was trying to think, what does Arizona, New Mexico have? Aren't they pretty "disaster free"? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit - Build 7600 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3-2120 3.30Ghz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Socket H2 ATX Memory Kingston 4 GB DDR3 1333 mhz Graphics Card Zotac GeForce 9400 GT 512MB Sound Card Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24-Bit Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Sync Master 940 = 19 inch Screen Resolution 1440 X 900 Keyboard Microsoft Natural 4000 Mouse Microsoft Custom Optical 3000 PSU 500 watt Case NZXT Apollo - Silver with Clear Side Panel Cooling Three 120 mm Fans Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB Sata 3 SSD ==

With Florida the summers are always rainy and incredibly unbearable due to the heat and humidity. The winters you have "season" which is where all the "snow birds" come down and clog up traffic and cause accidents. You also have all the dry heat in the winter, which means a LOT of brush fires. I recall one time Alligator Alley was shut down for a couple days due to those fires. Soon those beaches on the west coast are going to be destroyed. There's also lots of crime from the illegal immigrant problem in Florida. They bring drugs, prostitution, rape, robbery and murder.
Let's not forget the bugs! First house I lived in (Lehigh Acres) we always had huntsman spiders, brown widows and black widow spiders. Second house wasn't so bad but the third house I rented I had a ghost ant infestation. I had to use Ant Kil with boric acid to get rid of them. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHz Motherboard Asus P5Q PRO Turbo Memory 4GB DDR2-800 Graphics Card MSI Radeon HD 5850 Sound Card Creative Labs Audigy2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 225BW PSU Corsair HX650 Case Antec Nine Hundred Hard Drives (2) 1TB Samsung F1, (2) 1.5TB Samsung F2, 1TB Samsung F2, 2TB Samsung F3 Hurricane Season USA problems?
