UK apparenly started testing the technology post WW2. Something with releasing large amounts of negatively charged ions high up in the atmosphere to create storms.
There are two History Channels. One is just plain History Channel which has good solid history on it. The other one, History Investigates, has some pretty weird stuff on it. Today there was one about the giant birds that were sighted in the USA in the 1970's. Just off the top of my head, I don't remember those. I just had to record that show and see what it was all about.
I'm in the Tampa Area (northern suburbs) so we are watching this current "depression". But, this is generally early early in the season for something to form and affect the Tampa area. Late August into mid September is the "prime" season for us.
However Murphy's Law applies and something could brew up and hit this area at any time.
I've lived in Biloxi Ms (Keesler AFB) and been through several there in the early 60's (nothing like the major Hurricanes that have hit that area).
My older brother is a first reponder for FEMA on these disaters. He is still doing repairs in the Galveston/Houston area from Ike. He tells me they estimate anywhere form 12 to 16 major Hurricanes this season so lets pray their wrong with all that oil in the gulf the last thing they need is to have it blown all over the place.
