I have been watching the Atlantic and Daniel is way out in the Atlantic so no problem. It was expected that Earl would follow Daniel but he has his own plan. Earl is expected to turn North and pass West of Bermuda and stay off shore of the US, but that could change. Also projected to become a Cat 3 in a few days. There is another Low behind Earl that may develop and may head straight to Bermuda.

Not looking good for the East Coast. Earl is a Major hurricane with winds getting up to 120Knots/148mph. With Fiona following him. The NHC hopes Earl will turn Eastward in a few days but its to early to tell.

I think it is just going to bring us rain as a tropical depression.

The colors on that chart represent the probability of the predicted path with red having the highest probability (if I read the chart right) :)

The NHC runs a number of computer models and each color is a different model and shows its projected path. Then the NHC uses this and other information to make a prediction. At the top of that image are the names of the models, GFS, GFDL, NAM and others.
Here is the official prediction as of tonight. The shaded cone shape includes the margin of error with the track line in the center. Every six hours a new prediction is issued and the cone is refined.

Compare that to the lasted models.
