I've used XP 2-3 years and facing BSOD only 2 or 3 times. I admit in terms on performance,XP can't withstand heavyworks. But it rarely have issues with compatibility . me myself also wondering why I didn't migrated to vista

When I go to my oldest sons house he has a computer running XP, and it is like looking at win95 when XP was the new kid in town. :)

I never understood the hype about Vista. I used it since day one (literally - Febr. 1, 2007) and never had any problems that I could not manage. Not a single BSOD in all these years and I am still running 3 Vistas. My wife even refuses to use Win7. She has never had a single problem - maybe because she does not use anything exotic. I think all you have to do with Vista is to use it straight forward and stay away from tweaks and "optimizations".
