Robert I'm sure when the time comes the new parents will be fine, it can be a little daunting being a grandparent at first but if you make sure you're there if they need help or advice, but don't try telling them what to do or how to bring up their child you'll find everything will work out just fine.

    Good luck.
Sounds like solid advice Joan, from years of experience. So you would say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?

Also, my kids stopped listening to me years ago, so I don't try to tell them anything anymore. Every once in a a while one will visit and say: "You know Dad, what you said all those years ago was right, after all" and I can smile.

I have found each copes with life according to what resources there are within. I may not like something they do, or agree with a decision made, but nothing will keep me from loving my children. So I support as best as I can.

    Cheers!
    Robert
Yes that sounds about right Robert, my daughter does the same thing now she has the babies, saying now she realises just what I went through or how I knew something as that is just how she is feeling.

Doesn't it feel nice to be right every so often and have your children admit it

The saying my children know me for is " I don't always like them but I'll always love them " :)
I like the way you think, Joan.

I did 4 miles in 54 minutes, 2 of which running. Not bad, since I didn't die. It felt close, though. Very humid out there.
That would kill me, I'd probably have to have at least one smoke during that run.
I ran the Bay To Breakers when I was 12 or 13. Today It would break something alright :) Well, it's just a circus race now anyway.

Today the crown princess Victoria of Sweden got her prince, Mr. Daniel Westling, a common man until 3:30 PM today, now Duke of Västergötland, Prince of Sweden, and His Royal Highness.

In all Scandinavian countries people forgot ongoing Football World Cup for one day, all major networks in all four Scandinavian countries showing the festivities all day long. Please don't tell anyone, I don't want people to know I'm not so macho as I pretend to be, but I watched the wedding tears in my eyes. Simply, it was so absolutely beautiful!

We Finns have really close relations to Sweden, being part of Kingdom of Sweden until 1809. We Finns feel Swedish royal family is like our own, royalties we don't have as the only republic in Scandinavia. Personally I'm not a supporter of monarchy, but as long as it exists in different countries, I find it refreshing that Swede's have so modern, example giving royal family.

Besides, IMO crown princess Victoria is a very beautiful woman :)

I will keep this one. Being a father to three boys, two pre-adolescents, I know exactly what you mean...

Today.....I replaced the Handbrake's convection microwave with a new one. The old one passed on after 22 years or so of faithful service, whilst i was away up north working.

As she can't stand for even a minute, being an invalid, she needs it to heat up food i prepare for her.
Whilst in the shop yesterday to purchase it, we found a smaller replica of the big one, which i put on the kitchen bench. This will make her life even more comfortable.

Lets hope these last for another 20 years, as they are not cheap.
