Unless I am wrong.....couldn't you proxy the login server address of SF?
NO. when I type my username and password to login, it takes me to a blank white page (we have IE 6 on Win XP in office ). When I go back or refresh the page, I m back to the main page like a visitor. So I can only access the forum, cant login.

If I have got your setup right in my tiny brain, if you just unplug the ethernet cable from the PC it will have no effect on the laptop at all.

M'Lady, I am sorry to hear about your desktop. Maybe some of the folks here can help you get it back up and running?
