Is it worth the money?A few months and a lot of paid apps later...I can definitely see this lime of thought. I got one as a gift, and ended up upgrading to the 3G...it's really functional for as much as I'm on the road. I've had to eat my words a bit on how much I despise apple stuff over how functional I've found this to be.I don't hate it at all. I think it is really really cool, and hope it spawns a new market (tablet TOUCH computers).
What makes me dislike it (strongly) is that APPLE made it. A more proprietary brand you cannot find (even more so than MS).
Now, if someone had come up with a really nice touch tablet computer and put a specialized LINUX os on it, I would jump on it.
Since it is Apple, it is not worth buying as it is crippled beyond ALL redemption.

I get frustrated now with emetic apple hate. The app store is fluid and neat IMO
I love reading books on my ipad, and love reading the news. Typing emails is somewhat better than my phone.
I can watch the Daily Show and things on Megavideo on my phone but not ipad -100000
The GPS in my iPad seems more accurate than my HD2 and EVO both.
Skype works well just sitting beside me in the truck talking to whoever, better than the EVO.
I've downloaded a lot of apps, the best one by far is Motion GPS HD. I took it hiking and it did a great job with maps I downloaded. A close second is documents to go.
The built in email client doesnt preview pics very well.
My screen is cracked into oblivion, however this is not apples fault, someone dropped my ipad.
iPad doesnt support AVRCP when using bluetooth headphones. That's really annoying.
I read a lot of patient charts walking through hospitals, and for that the iPad is amazing when they're in .pdf. Reading a multiple page .tiff file is impossible, as you can only ever see the first page.
There's still not an acceptable solution for me to use OneNote like note taking. MobileNoter is meh at best.
I find myself using my tablet PC again. The novelty of iPad has worn off, but for music, GPS, reading, and casual browsing it's an epic win, if you have a laptop already.
