    ITS APPLE!!!!!

Its just another of their over-priced fashion accessories.

Not to mention 'NO FLASH' Compatibility.

For me it's because I hate seeing the not too bright being taken advantage of and duped by clever marketing to buy pretty useless and overpriced products.

For me it's not hate, it's contempt. Apple believes there are people who are willing to pay extra dollars only because it's Apple. Sadly, they seem to be right on that.

Pretty much, yeah.....only it costs a whole lot more money. You could get a 64GB Touch for $100-$150 less than the 16GB iPad if you shop around. Maybe it will do a few things the Touch can't, but it's not worth it IMO.

I dislike Apple's general marketing statagy - although it does seem to work with a lot of people - the iPad in particular does seem to be a pure gimmick,

Apple have a technology in the touch and appstore field, from the iphone, that the ipad is IMO just built to exploit, even though the upscaling of a phone OS is not appropriate for a ipad sized device.

Hopefully the hype over the iPad will lead to other manufacturers also producing devices for this market, (if it really exists), using a more appropriate touch OS, (win7 ), and without the Sales tie-in to the appstore

I agree and the Asus EEE Pad could be the first one out
