The line is 100/20 (DL/UL), half dedicated to IPTV, half to our home network. I get DL speeds up between 2 and 4.5 Mbps, depending on the time and day. A one hour TV show with the HD quality, as described in my first post in this thread, takes anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes to download.

    Still better than mine.

I am downloading a game, and peak download rate is 500Kbs, average around 300KBs.

Really annoying considering what we pay and what is advertised.

We're in the same boat in Australia - what is advertised and what is 'actual' are two separate entities.

Compared to our European counterparts - we are left in the dust.

For example, my ADSL2+ is a theoretical 24MBPS DL / 1 MBPS up.

In reality, on a good day I can hit 1.6MBPS d/l and have a 100kb/s upload. The majority of the time, it's a quarter of that speed for downloads, be they torrents or http/FTP.

On my 40/Mbs line I average @2.5 to 3MB/s ... I cant complain, though I pay through the nose for those speeds...
