Reputation and Badges [3] This post is to explain the Reputation and Badges and how they work. Information Badges are given when a user reaches a certain level of reputation and also meets the minimum requirements posted below, or if the Administrators feel a member has earned it before the reputation level is reached. The maximum amount of badges a user can have at one time is 3. User Titles
(Minimum posts) Junior Member - 0 posts Member - 30 posts Senior Member - 100 posts Member Badges
{ Reputation based + Minimum requirements} Skilled = 100 rep+5 Days Registered+0 Posts Power User = 300 rep+30 Days Registered+100 Posts Seven Pro = 600 rep+60 Days Registered+100 Posts Seven Guru = 1000 rep+90 Days Registered+100 Posts Gold Member = 2000 Posts+90 Days Registered Staff Badges {Invite Only} Adminstrators SuperMods Moderators SF Team Badge Special Badges Supporter {A donation was made} Donation option no longer available. Developer {Software Developer} Graphics Team { SF Graphics Designer} Information Reputation is a way of rating users depending on the quality of their posts. If you feel that a member has or is being helpful to you or just has been helping out in general, you can give them rep on the particular helpful post. Warning
The Reputation System is not to be abused, such as in repping each other to get a higher level, or begging members to give you rep.
The scale icon at the top right of a post or tutorial is how you can give rep to the member.
If you want to check how many rep points you have, and what your rep power is, who you have given rep to, and who has given you rep, you can look in your UserCP, at the very bottom it will show you both. The reputation scale is as follows: -99 to 0 1 to 100 101 to 200 201 to 300 301 to 400 401 to 500
Once you hit 500, you will start gaining bright green dots on top of the 5 dark dots but it takes twice as much to gain a bright green dot. 501 to 700 701 to 900 901 to 1100 1101 to 1300 1301 to 1500 1501 and up 1st Gold pip- 1501 2nd-2501 3rd-3501 4th- 4501 5th- 5501 First Star Medal- 6501
Once you receive 6501 rep points, you will get the first star medal. An example of mine is below-
When you receive a medal, your displayed rep pips will start over again from one pip.
In addition, there are 3 levels of medals - Bronze, Silver and Gold, once you have 3 bronze, then your next will go up to the next level and onto Silver, etc.
An example of Negative Reputation Rep Power is how many points you give when you give rep to somebody. Some information on this is given below. Note Rep Power is set to a global cap of 50 points ATM, due to rep abuse. So if your Rep Power number reaches above 50, your rep given to another user will only give them a maximum 50 points at any one time. Ability to rep in the this, the Chillout Room, and the News Forum has been disabled due to over repping for non-helpful posts. Information Register Date Factor
For every X number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 50 Post Count Factor
For every X number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 25 Reputation Point Factor
For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. 100 Minimum Post Count
How many posts must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 1 Minimum Reputation Count
