    In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that i am posting today. On satuarday evening my PC died .
It was fine that evening there was no indicators that there was an issue, my monitor is a 32" lcd TV and doubles as the family television. around 10.30 pm i selected the source on tv remote to switch to PC from TV and i saw a flicker of green lines across the screen the mouse lights died and the power dissapeared, when i press the power button to reboot there is nothing ,nada ,nowt.
my guess is that its a hardware issue in the power area but i have no idea about these things any suggetions would be appreciated.
As i am a relatively poor (financialy) i cant afford to put it in for repair right now and as a result have had to order a new one on credit , the up side is that it is a very nice upgrade from my previous system
    1t hardrive
    4gig of ram
    1gig hd graphics
    amd IIx4 635 processor
    and more.
the downside is that it wont arrive until the 30th of the month at the latest.
At some point in the future i will be asking advice as how to save the old pc or failing that how to save the hardrive.
Anyhow unfortunately i wont be visiting sevenforums as often as i would like as i am using the school pc at present and have limited use . so for the time being .adieue ,tara .bye for now.
    take care y'all

    I'm sorry to hear that.

It does, however, give you the opportunity (and excuse) to upgrade :), although from a financial point of view it is never a good time.

In the meantime, visit us whenever you get chance. We'll still be here. :)

Looks like a good upgrade. Saving the HDD should be pretty easy. and if you are getting a new Desktop PC, it will probably have space for an extra HDD and you can just put it in the case and access the files.

Hope it comes soon or arrives early. You got 2 weeks left?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, boohbah. These type of things always appear to happen at the most unopportune moments.
The upside is, you'll have a new toy to play with. From experience, i reckon putting your old harddrive into your new comp, should not be difficult, especially if it happens to be a sata drive. If ide, just need a different cable, etc.

Hope the 30th comes along quick for you.

It appears that boobah didn't have to wait until the 30th after all and has the new PC now. Congrats! (Or did you just update your system specs in anticipation of the new PC?)
