Yes of course. 2.5 lacs rupees just for a logo design is a good deal.

Also noticed in Finnish media (Intian uusi rupiamerkki puuttuu pitkään näppäimistöstä | Tiede ja tekniikka | YLE Uutiset | yle.fi), telling us Finns that our own Nokia has already started to plan how to implement new Rupee sign to mobile phones, warning at the same time that it can take years before this sign can be found on computer keyboards and mobile phones.

    Kari

P.S. 2.5 lakh Rupee = 250,000 Rupee = €4,111 = $5,344 (exchange rates 6PM CET on 16th July, 2010). It's about two times the GDP PPP (Gross Domestic Product Purchasing Power Parity) of India, so for instance compared to someone living and working in the USA it would roughly be an equivalent of $90,000.

Nokia rules the cellphone market in India. Good to hear that they are planning to include the symbol in their phones. However, I really didnt like the new currency symbol.

That font replaces the ` glyph with the Rupee symbol :)
    Good work Dinesh.

PS. Not sure if I really like the new Rupee symbol. Anyway, its not much of a strain to type it the old fashioned way (Rs. or INR)
