wi-fi? : YES
sync to my XP 2002 outlook? YES : GUIDE
network to ------------ 98SE,win2000,XP home,XP pro, vista,Windows 7? NO - Unless you remote into a Windows Computer using the iPad : GUIDE
ability to play 175GIGS of MP3's? NO - Unless you are SHARING the music on your home network through iTunes (64GB max for the iPad)
Remember, the iPad is NOT a "computer". There is no start menu (or even a mac start menu), its basically a gigantic iPod touch. Great for web browsing and apps from the apple app store, and playing music and movies. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.90Ghz Motherboard Some Gigabyte one, dont remember model Memory 3.00 GB Graphics Card 8800GTS 512MB Sound Card Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Monitor(s) Displays Dual 22" widescreen Keyboard Saitek Eclipse 2 Mouse Logitech MX518 PSU CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W Power Supply Case Thermalkake Tsunami Dream Cooling Thermaltake Golden Orb II Hard Drives 250GB internal, 500GB internal |

I am looking at getting an iPad for my disabled daughter. There is a University in America somewhere that has written an app for the iPad to enable communication with disabled people. I'm just waiting to see if the Australian Government use their brains and take advantage of the technology, as it has proven to be worth it's weight in gold {so to speak} in trials thus far. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number I'll Fix IT Computers OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit CPU Intel Core 2 Quad 9400 2.66Ghz @ 3.20 Motherboard Asus P5QL-E Memory 4Gb (2x2g) Kingston HyperX 1066Mhz Dual Channel @ 2.3v Graphics Card Gigabyte HD5670 1Gig no o/c Sound Card On board Monitor(s) Displays Screen1 = Samsung 953BW Screen 2 = Samsung 943BW Screen Resolution Screen 1 @ 1440x900 Screen 2 @ 1440x900 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9 Gaming Mouse PSU Coolermaster 550w Case Coolermaster RC-332 Cooling Front 120mm, Rear 120mm, side (VGA card vent) 80mm Hard Drives Seagate SataII 500Gb 7200 Rpm Internet Speed Bigpond Wireless Broadband (variable speeds up to 7Mbps) Other Info Thermaltake Max Orb II CPU Fan @ 2000rpm |

whatever else I'm missing It's an Apple product. That automatically makes it both overpriced and proprietary. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHz Motherboard Asus P5Q PRO Turbo Memory 4GB DDR2-800 Graphics Card MSI Radeon HD 5850 Sound Card Creative Labs Audigy2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 225BW PSU Corsair HX650 Case Antec Nine Hundred Hard Drives (2) 1TB Samsung F1, (2) 1.5TB Samsung F2, 1TB Samsung F2, 2TB Samsung F3 |

It's good at what it does. It's good looking. It's popular. It's a big toy. Can it have it's uses, sure. Do people want them, you bet. If you have the extra cash, not a problem I've ever had.
