Nice but $300 price tag is a bit much. I do like the audio setup, putting the audio off of the motherboard resolves interference problems.

For that price though I'd expect something better than Realtek gigabit. It should have Intel gigabit at that price.

I can believe that price. The expansion opportunities alone...

I remember back in the day spending $200 on an Asus A7V8X motherboard. I swore to myself I'd never spend that much again. Most I go is $120 and no higher.

It seems to me it's a brave new world for boards. They will need to support all the other growing platforms and the ATX is long due for changes. The good news is if the price is $250-300 today it will surely be half of less tomorrow !
I could argue if that's always a good thing but man does my pocketbook love it. I have the MSI K9N2 Diamond board and it is a sweet board and was peanuts.

Nice to see a board I'd actually call legacy free. No serial or parallel ports that I would never use. Don't need floppy, IDE or onboard video either. The included PCIe sound card is a nice option. Gives you the option to upgrade and not end up with the onboard sitting there doing nothing and taking up space. If I had the cash I think I might actually be tempted to buy that board.

I hope they fixed that OC genie.

Push to overclock in 1 second

MSI’s original invention, a fully automatic, smart overclocking chip.
It will automatically detect the optimal settings for your individual system.
One person I know who used that on another board had their vcore and RAM voltage pushed way past safe levels... Not exactly optimal.

Not aware of the OC genie and any problems, my board has OC design and I'm pushing a 2.6 AMD quad to a modest 2.87 or 10% I'm hoping with a new case and water to go a little higher with much better temps. Anyone seen other cool boards out there lately ?

Same board for us AMD lovers.....crazy we may be ?
