Paintshop Pro 7 was release in 2000, they have Paintshop Photo Pro X3 (13) now.

What I would suggest is Adobe Photoshop, that's what most of us here use (along with Adobe Illustrator)

Of course, Adobe Photoshop is pretty darn expensive and nobody here would condone software piracy.

I often use Paint.net (free) or TheGimp (Free) to do all of my graphics work. Both are capable applications, and don't require you to buy a $600 application or resort to pirating the software from some warez, torrent, or other shady site.

Great suggestions pparks!! I got them with my student discount a couple years ago, I believe I ended up paying like 150 bucks for the whole suite, can't beat that! I'll have to check out GIMP though

Until recently I had been using Paint Shop Pro v so it all depends how much you want to spend.
Tried the trial version of Adobe Photoshop but couldn't justify $600 for it.
Bought Corel Draw Graphics Suite 5 on Ebay for $80.
So it boils down to the freebie's of gimp, paint.net or buying it.
