both .dmp files run though debugger come up as a 0x7F which in my experience is Low-level hardware corruption, such as corrupt memory (RAM), Mismatched memory modules and or a malfunctioning motherboard ?

I would first suspect out of date drivers as most of yours appear to be from July of 2009 and I can see Dell offer drivers from 2010

for instance tdx.sys a component of your network driver is a year out of date

please go to Dell Studio XPS 1647 and update all of your drivers, if you use the service tag you can have dell identify your laptop and tell you which drivers are available

also please check your Bios version ?

let us know how it goes

Not yet, just wait for more BSODs. Hopefully you won't get any more, but if you do, enable driver verifier, and post back here with the BSOD Posting Instructions.
