The following is the Blue Screen error log along with a .zip file of my "Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2" folder as well as a .zip file of my minidump folder.

Please help as it just had occurred several times within the past week or so. I know I had updated several installed software but don't know which had caused this BSOD.

Basic System Info:

- Age of hardware = 3 years
- Age of OS installation = 1 year

Several things caused this crash.

First sptd.sys (used in daemoin tools/alcohol) always causes BSOD's)

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Third and most important Memory corruption.

It may be sptd causing the memory corruption or the memory itself test it with memtest
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.


Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

I would also remove AVG and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials. AVG was running when the machine crashed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did recently updated a "pcouffin" related software (ConvertXtoDVD) which you pointed out; therefore, I uninstalled it completely and will report back if that was the culprit.

Now, on the topic regarding the sptd.sys (used in daemon tools/alcohol), I had been using "daemon tools light" since my Vista x64 OS as well Win 7 days and have not have any problems before. Is it still feasible or would you still recommend me to uninstall such software even if it was proven to be stable within my system since I had it?

Third, I don't think I have AVG, however, I have Kaspersky IS as my primary anti-virus software. Do you think a software within my system conjured AVG to be installed as well?
