Blue screen of on a newly purchased computer

I am now what seems like my 10th BSD today. I would have to check the logs to see how many.

I am using a new machine that I just bought and it seems to be crashing a lot. I am not doing anything really memory intensive. Usually just internet and iTunes with the occasional excel mixed in.

I am probably going to take this back to best buy if it keeps happening, but I figured I would give this a shot first and see if this is a simple fix that I am just not aware of.

If anyone could help that would be great. I am getting the the BCCode 50 error. I can attach the .dmp files if that would help.

Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM).


Another common cause is the installation of a faulty system service.


Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.


This particualar crash was caused by your vsapaint.sys (trend moicro) it should be removed and replaced by Microsoft Security Essentials.
