If it BSoDs when the memory is added, you likely have bad memory. The easiest way to check is to download Memtest, burn it to a disc, and let it run for a while, usually overnight. If you see errors, pull the "bad" memory out and run it again. If you don't see any errors, return the bad memory.

Did you run Memtest with all 8 GB installed?

Then it is possible the motherboard's slots are bad. What happens if you pull the working 4 GB and put the "non-working" 4 GB in the same slots and try to boot?
