Unable to open "Uninstall a Program" through Control Panel

Hi

Not sure if this is the right thread for this post.

I am unable to open "Uninstall a program" through control panel. Everytime when I try to open it, I get the following error message

"Windows cannot find '::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}...:{7B81BE6A-CE2B-4676-A29E-EB907A5126C5}' Make sure you typed the name corerctly, and then try again.

However, I can open this in safe mode. Unsure why this is the case. Have tried googling for help but none found.

I use Win 7 64bit.
Please help me here.
Many thanks

Hello jason & welcome to SevenForums!

Have you been trying to deleting this program by deleting the folder in the DATA path? It would probably fail after trying to uninstalling in the control panel then.
Try looking for the path and see if it's there!

Also, try this well popular software, for a perfect uninstallation of a software:

Revo Uninstaller

Hi FredeGail

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Sorry for the confusion. The issue in here isnt so much on unable to uninstall a program. In fact, I am unable to get into the Add/Remove Prorgram function in the normal mode whereas I can do so in safe Mode. Whenever I try to open the Add/Remove Program function in Control Panel, it will not open and will throw me the error message.

Many thanks

Hi seavixen32

Sorry for the late reply. Only had a chance to look at this now.

Just ran the file checker but no issue found.

I tried opening up the add/remove program but still no good.

Thanks

When did you first notice the error?

You could try a system restore to a point before it first started.

You might also want to carry out a full virus scan in Safe Mode. Malwarebytes is an excellent tool for this job.

Hi

Scanned with the Malwarebytes and no virus found. Also system restored too but did not fix the problem.

Funny thing though after the scanning was completed, turned off the completely and turned it back on, it wouldnt start properly. So i had to do a system restore to remove Malwarebyte to fix this issue. Unsure why

Cheers
