Hello,

Yesterday when opening Task Manager I for the first time experienced that processes are jumping back forth (randomly up and down) changing places all the time. I have never experienced this. Could this be caused by some malware of some sort?

To see if there was a specific program which did this I shut down all non essential programs.

My OS is Windows 7 64bit SP1.

Thanks,
Laurus

It all depends on what criteria you use to sort the list. Typically, this occurs when you select the CPU column to sort, either in ascending or descending order.

Thank you very much for your reply StalkeR.

I have done what you said, and thankfully there was no malware detected. :)

Thank you very much to you too Dwarf. It is interesting really. Some years ago I had worked as a Windows NT systems administrator for many years and this simple thing has passed me by. :D

Thank you. That did it.
