Having problems with system freezes.

I have just re-built my system with some new parts (almost finished) and the computer freezes after a short while. No blue screens or errors, just stops. If there is music playing it distorts for a little while (random noise really) and stops.

Specs: * AMD Phenom II X6 3.3 GHS [new]
* Corsair XMS3 DD3 1,333Mhz [new - wanted 2000Mhz but budget restrictions]
* Asus M4A87TD/USB3 [new]
* XFX 8500GT
* Couple of SATA 300 HDDs
* DVD RW
* 550w PSU

Cooling is stock and no overclocking etc.

All drives & BIOS are up to date as far as I can tell.

I've been through several PSU calculators online and the highest they came to was 444w (probably should get a bigger PSU but this one should be adequate, just has two SATA connectors which is the only downside).

CPU usage does not spike before the freeze and temp is in the low-mid 30s C (not F, stock cooler remember not liquid nitrogen).

Have run Memtest86 from a live disc and no errors reported.

Cloned the boot drive with a live disc and everything seemed to go fine, did a burn in test and even got an hours minecraft in. Then it froze again.

Thinking it may be driver issues rather than hardware so biting the bullet and doing a re-install. One day I will make a CD with all those sefull utilities I use, been meaning to for years.

After a reinstall on a different drive I've still had a couple of system freezes, at this point I think it is either the PSU or memory (or really bad luck and two iffy drives in a row, have a new drive on order).

PSU I can do nothing about for the moment (new one on order).

I've taken one of the RAM sticks out at a time and it still freezes.

I've run the SF diagnostic tool and atatched the file.

Can't think of anything else that might be usefull, ask if you need to know something.

Any help would be greatefully received.

Cheers

Mik

No DMP files included in upload try this method

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

It's not blue screening, it just stops as if a pause button has been pressed.

There were no DMP files to upload.

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

Just testing out the new PSU and if that stablises the sytem I'll chuck in the new boot drive. If it still locks up after that then I'm stumped.
