Windows 7 which was already pre installed into my acer laptop is now shutting down abruptly every time i try to switch on. It just says "windows has shut down unsuccesfully" then it tells me "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" Problem details as follows:

Also it checks for updates and doesn't install them, so far we have 16 critical updates waiting to go on. Last update was 5th August.
