BSOD caused by Wininit.exe

Hi,

Sometimes, i have a BSOD (1 time per week maximum) on my laptop Dell XPS 17.
The BSOD happen anytime and often when I restart my computer or when I'm on the web.

I started getting the BSOD when I put a SSD Vertex 3 in my laptop.
I am in AHCI, the bios is updated, all the drivers are up to date, and I update the SSD with the latest firmware.

Here is my error code with the soft "Who Crashed":

Hello Julianinho, welcome to SF!

It is likely that the ssd has something to do with it as drivers and other possibilities do not stand out in dump or the rest of the files... but for one thing: 90% of your application errors are playing GTA IV.

As this is easiest to test, please confirm it this is true?
Maybe a re-install of this game would help.

Your crashes differ in history and could be ssd related.

Hello MvdB,

Thanks for your help.
As I understand the BSOD come from my GTA 4 and also the SSD ?

I'll try to reinstall the game if it can solve the problem, but you know the problem would be of what exactly ? The ssd driver crash when I play GTA 4 ?

I made a diagnostic of SSD and i found no errors, it is healthy ;)

Hello MvdB,

I have a new BSOD today :

On Sun 21/08/2011 13:31:45 your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: unknown_image
Bugcheck code: 0xF4 (0x3, 0xFFFFFA8007F4E060, 0xFFFFFA8007F4E340, 0xFFFFF8000479D8B0)
Error: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
Dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\082111-33587-01.dmp

I don't play GTA4 this time , the BSOD appeared only when I was on the internet.

It means that the problem would not the game but the ssd ?
The first BSOD was caused by the module: wininit.exe, for against this one is due to: unknown_image.

Regretfully, this dump is incomplete. Normally chances are high either memory or HDD caused that...(drivers or the hardware itself).

Lets test ram
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

I test the ram with 6 passes and memtest found no errors.
I have two ram with 8 GB dual channel, memtest comes to detect errors on dual channel ?

It is likely that the problem is ssd (driver or hardware) ?
There a link with the game GTA 4 or it's an other problem ?

thanks

No I haven't had a BSOD since the last time, I have one per week maximum ;)

In your other post you said that my dump is incomplete, the problem is with the files zip ?
Because I installed the file "Windows_NT6_BSOD_v3.03_jcgriff2_" on my pc and I started, and then once it finish I zip file and I send it here.

no, you probably uploaded ok, sometimes W7 just can't complete the mem dump. If that does not happen all the time, it's no big deal...

I'm actually not sure what the problem is here... You have a lot of drivers that look a bit old/could have been updated.. but don't have to be a problem. Just in ase, go to DELL.com with your system service number (or system name) and download latest drivers for your system/motherboard.

You have two really old drivers of which I'm not yet sure if they could cause this. Please check the corresponding software yourself and either update or (as a test) delete.

I searched the file wininit.exe on my pc and I found 8 files wininit.exe different is not normal :

http://img67.xooimage.com/files/b/0/3/capture-2d0e4d5.png

I have 2 OS Windows Seven on my laptop, one on my SSD (driver C: ) and another on my HDD (drive G: )
So normally I would be only 2 in all and not 8 ?

I scan the 8 files with my antivirus + spybot + malwarebyte, and they found nothing.

Maybe the BSOD comes of these 8 files?

One of the 8 files wininit.exe there to be marked amd64 folder directory, or i'm not amd but intel i5.

What do you think?
