Hi guys , please help me out i am in a pickle now...

Now i have Windows 7 64-bit laptop (Acer Aspire 4738G)

The problem started when i tried to fix a corrupted External HDD through disk management it looks that by accident i may have done something to the primary os (stupid i know) i didn't realize that until i restarted the laptop

This came up:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change may be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and click next.
3. Click "Repair your computer"

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

status: 0xc0000225

info: the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i stayed calm and tried to go to advanced boot options by pressing F8 still nothing this screen appears it's preventing me from accessing advanced boot options and booting from CD/DVD

Finally i tried booting the system restore from USB and it finally went through but sadly when it tries to search for windows installations it finds only one partition which is 0mb

can i do anything from cmd , i am open to suggestions

thanks in advance, i would really appreciate if u help guys

regards

:cry::cry::cry:

what changes did you make in the console? Have you changed the active partition? Have you tried booting with the external drive disconnected?

i didn't change the active partition all i did was try to format the external hdd, that was the last thing i did , i deleted the volume in disk management and made a new volume using the allocated space, after all that it didn't work so i removed it from pc and used computer normally , after a while i restarted the computer and bam this came up

as for the second question , i didn't understand sorry can you explain more? , thanks :D

I simply meant can you boot the machine when you unplug the external drive.
