Windows 7 - Random BSOD when browsing internet, watching videos, playing games, et

Hello,

First off, thank you to anyone who takes the time to read about my problem. I am not expert in computers, but I can usually hold my own. This problem has me completely baffled and I will appreciate any and all help.

I am running Windows 7 professional 64-Bit (student version, pretty sure it is retail), and I having some trouble with my PC. As the title says, I am having completely random BSOD's that are getting progressively worse over time. At first i thought it was a motherboard / RAM issue but I have performed every test I could think of and they all test out fine. Unfortunately, I do not have any known good RAM or another motherboard to test with.

I am pretty sure hardware is causing this issue, I just cannot determine what hardware it is. I have run memtest 86+ without any issues. Memtest86 gave 250,000 errors on test number 7 but after poking around the internet that seems to have an issues with modern CPUs.

I have also ran PRIME95 blend test for about 12 hours trying to coax a BSOD out of the sytem, but it stayed rock solid the entire test. Same thing when I tried to run windows driver verifier (although it was for more like 2 hours, not 12 with verifier).

I use Bluescreenview to look at the minidumps, but I am at a complete loss at what could be causing it. The most common cause is the kernel itself, with the NTFS.sys causing it as well sometimes.

SYSTEM BACKGROUND

The machine was built from the ground up in January with mostly new parts. All parts are 8 months old with the exception of the following

2x WD Sata II 320GB in RAID O - ~ 4 years old
4GB od the 8GB of Corsair XMS3 memory - ~4 months old
HIS Radeon HD 5870 - 2 years, 2 months old
Sound Blaster Titanium - 3 months old

I have the SSD setup as the primary Boot drive (C with the RAID drive as my storage/Program drive (D.


At this point, I am leaning towards the hard drives because that is the oldest hardware in my system and I believe the NTFS.sys being the cause could involve the hard drives. However, as I said I am no expert and, if possible, would like some advice before I just randomly start replacing parts.

I am still having this problem. I can upload tons of new minidumps if it will help. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can help.

What SSD is it? Filling out your system specs makes it easier to see what's what.

As for the memory do you have two sets installed? Corsair don't recommend mixing memory even if it is the same.

The SSD is an OCZ Agility 2 120GB. The RAM is the same brand and type, but I bought them at different times (approximately 3 months apart). I have all four motherboard slots occupied with 2gb modules.

I don't know why, but it has been especially bad lately. I've had about 7-10 BSOD's in the pas two days. Almost all of them have the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT HANDLED bug check string. I can post the minidumps again if anyone would like to see them.

Try removing the newer ram. See how it runs with half. Put the remaining ram into the slots the motherboard recommends.

If it still plays up reinstall the ram then try updating the firmware on the SSD.
