BSODs playing games (skyrim / BF3 / Dirt 3)

Hi Guys,

I've got BSODs while playing games. This happens very frequently when playing Skyrim but it happened with other games. Few months ago it also happen while using desktop applications.

I've tried to install the last versions of every drivers I need but might have missed 1 or 2

I've run a VERIFIER, the system crashed many times, then reboot in safe mode and have created this report (please see attached)

Many thanks for your help Everyone !!!!

Hello & welcome,

> AVG can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S .
Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Download tools and utilities | AVG Worldwide

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

> Suggest you run SFC Option 2.
You may need to run it three times till all is clear.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Thank you JMH for your reply. Uninstalling AVG reduced the amount of BSODs but I still get some. The BSODs started before installing AVG.

Any other thought? I've used WHOCRASHED to find out that "it should be something to do with a driver which couldn t be identify"

Many thanks

* Are you overclocking?

* Something attached to your computer is creating problems eg USB.
You are going to have to do your own troubleshooting to identify the problem.

Driver verifier points to HIDCLASS.SYS (Human Interface Device) which are things like game controllers, steering wheels, etc.

What devices do you have attached?

If it only crashes in games I would remove all the external devices and see if it still crashes.

If that doesn't identify the culprit a clean install would probably do the trick.

Hi guys,
JMH and zigzag3143 ==> Thank you so much for trying to help me, that's pretty awesome from you to do that.

After tying everything you guys suggested, I decided to reinstall everything. Format / install OS and drivers in the correct order. It looks fine now. No more BSOD.

Your tutorials about how to launch debugging tools etc are very good. How about an article about what you check when you receive a BSOD ZIP file? That would be interesting to see how you find issues.

Many thanks
