Do the following steps.
  1. Get to the Advanced Boot Options screen.
  2. Start the computer in Safe Mode.
  3. Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup.
  4. Restart in normal mode and see if there is an improvement.

Use advanced boot options to start in safe mode. Then do the steps in the third link.

I've updated my previous post to be clearer.

okay ... as another update regarding this issue .. it occurs when my brother is transferring pictures/videos from his camera to my secondary hardisk... everything is transferred perfectly and suddenly some of the pictures cannot be viewed (i think its corrupted) ... luckily my bro hasnt delete the medias from his side...

well actually i was worried about my other media in that hardisk, will they be affected? i checked while in the safe mode.. they are all just fine... i really hope nothing goes wrong... and finally i tried to run chkdsk on my secondary hardisk and it hangs at the stages 4 of 5 ... what could be causing this?

and at this moment im following your advice running the windows in clean boot state ...

I would suggest running a hard disk diagnostic with the manufacturer's diagnostic utility based on that behavior. HD Diagnostic lists the hard disk manufacturers and where to find their utilities.

okay please teach me on this cause i find that guide quite confusing... both my hdd is SAMSUNG:

1. samsung hd401lj ata device
2. samsung hd154UI ata device

i dont know which one carries the 1.5TB among those 2.. as that is my secondary hardisk..

and when i googled it up... it gives me links about driver update which im not sure which one to choose from.. and btw... after the clean boot the computer is running normal.. as far as i know.. as i can now open firefox (where previously it cant)

Alright, do the following steps.
  1. Click Start Menu
  2. Right click Computer
  3. Click manage
  4. Go to Disk Management (from the list on the left)
  5. post a screenshot of your disk management window using the steps in Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Right click Disk 0 and click Properties. That should list the number for that drive.
Right click Disk 1 and click Properties. That should list the number for that drive.

Use Samsung to find the diagnostic utility for the drive in question.
