Windows 7 - Random BSOD's |

Random BSOD's Hi there,
I am hopefull that someone can help me with my reoccuring BSOD's as I am getting towards the end of my patience.
I had a XFX 8800GT Graphics card in my machine, the system was stable and to my reccolection no BSOD's before this point. It burnt out and so I replaced it with the current Radeon HD5850, Thus Errors started occuring whilst playing games, surfing the internet, playing music/ videos from the HDD and while the system was idle.
I recieved the following various BSOD's:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_NOT_LESS
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
(possibly others i can't remember)
I tried the following things:
-Updated to latest graphics drivers
-Updated latest mobo drivers and bios
-Tested graphics card in an other machine - no problems for 3 straight days
-Tested all 4 RAM sticks individually and each of the slots
-Tried just 2 sticks of RAM at a time
-Reinstalled Windows on the C:// Drive
-Unplugged 2 main HDD's and installed Windows on a 80GB HDD (one i'm currently using and providing the minidumps from) which only had Windows Updates, Graphics driver, Malwarebytes, MSE, and Java installed when i got the first BSOD(BAD_POOL_HEADER)
-Restored to before the Java Install which seemed stable for an hour or so.
Anything else I can try?
I apologise for the long post but i thought i would try and cover everything i had done so far.
Thank you.

Only 57 updates after SP1 - most systems have 70 or more. Please check Windows Update to get all available updates.
Memory dumps blame video drivers. Please: Quote: Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download and install a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
- Select the "Custom" installation option and don't let it install AMD OverDrive or the VISION Engine Control Center
Then use the ATI uninstall manager to uninstall the Catalyst Control Center (CCC). Since you've tested the card in another machine, if the driver doesn't fix things - then we have to wonder about the motherboard.
Please update your chipset drivers - as you nvm62x64.sys driver dates from 2008. Link here: NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.57 WHQL
If the video drivers don't fix things, run the video diagnostics from here: Hardware Diags
Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs: 3RD PARTY DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!

Processing.... Ok,
This is what I did:
Created a restore point
Checked windows update, only 3 optional updates found:
-definition for MSE
-Razer Input
-Samsung - Display
Didn't install any of these for the time being
Downloaded the chipset driver
installed the driver
restarted windows
Got a BSOD shortly after, no error on the BSOD but bluescreenview says it was
UNEXPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP
Uninstalled all AMD/ATi components through windows uninstall program
Restarted the system
Noted that the display driver hadn't been uninstalled display still at 1920x1080
Installed the AMD/ATi drivers from the website
Used ATi install manager to remove CCC
Looked ath the 10 links for the 3rd party drivers, some of which I believe should of been updated with the mobo chipset, AMD drivers or Windows Updates.
As of yet no BSOD's but I'm not holding my breath tbh.
P.S i had used furmark before reinstalling windows, Graphics card maxed at 83 degrees. Pretty good airflow in my case.
Will post back if and when something happens. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4L Memory 8.00GB Graphics Card Sapphire Vapor-X HD5850 Sound Card N/A Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster2333SW PSU Corsair TX750 Case Antec 900 Cooling 4 120mm Cooling Fans, 1 Big Boy 200mm Exhaust Fan Hard Drives 250GB Seagate HDD (Primary Boot, Windows 7)

Have updated the Razer driver from the website, but as for the samsung, there isn't a driver on there website that supports windows 7, only Win 98/ME/2K/XP/X64/Vista
Have found other sites that claim to have windows 7 compatible drivers. however I'm a little hesitant to d/l from them
Screen is: 23" Samsung SyncMaster 2333sw

You still have an older Razer driver installed (and these are known to cause BSOD's). Quote: Razerlow.sys Mon Nov 07 01:33:11 2005 (436EF527) Please:
- download a fresh copy of the Razer drivers from the Razer website
- uninstall the current copy of the Razer drivers from your system.
- install the freshly downloaded copy
- check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers and ensure that the Razerlow.sys driver is gone. If not, post back and we'll describe a procedure to safely remove it.
Update video drivers from the ATI website: ATI Radeon
Please do it this way: Quote: Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
If the BSOD's continue, we'll have to start with some hardware diagnostics (I suspect the video card). Here's a link to the tests that I recommend: Hardware Diags
