My pc is is extremely slow & crashing after game download

On 4/19, I downloaded a game from wildtangent and my pc became extremely slow to the point of crashing because pages were taking so long to download. I unstalled the game (using Control Panel) on 4/21 and though uninstalled, still had the same problem. On 4/21, I attempted to use System Restore to restore my pc to a date before the game download BUT the earliest system restore point was actually 4/21, including my checking the box to "choose another restore point". Win XP would save restore points for one to two months prior, with Win7 it's anywhere from one to a few days and in this case, the same day. WinXP was the best of the Windows versions and Win7 has been nothing but problematic. My pc with Win7 is a year and a few months old and Win7 has been one problem after another. Restoring to factory settings will wipe out everything on my pc so is there a way to restore my pc to before 4/18/2012?

I am not an expert in system restore, however you may not have enough HDD space being allocated for "System Protection" also known as system restore.

Also a lot of the programs do not create a restore point. Windows updates is quite good on creating restore points just in case.

Make sure that you have put a check mark on "Show more restore points". This will display more older restore points that have been created.
If that fails, then I PERSONALLY do not know how to restore to earlier point without it.

Unless you have backups or a system image,

I think we need to start trying to solve the problem. If you do not want to do a factory restore

Thanks for responding so quickly, however, as I stated in my original post, I had already checked the option to show more restore points. As for windows updates, I have it set to download automatically, but it has never been of any use when it comes to restore points.

I have a strong feeling your computer may be infected from what you have describe to me.

I strongly recommend you do a full scan with your security software. What do you have?

Please describe any weird behavior your computer has been doing while browsing on the internet or just while being on.

This is almost certainly because you have System Restore configured to devote only a relatively small amount of drive space to System Restore.

I'm not sure what the default amount is, but it is easily adjusted by simply moving a slider in the System Restore configuration page.

If you increase the space allotted to 20 or 30 percent, you should find that you have restore points dating back months.

I currently have 8 GB devoted to System Restore and have about a dozen restore points available, dating back to April 6.

Hey friend if you have created a repair disc of ur OS then insert it reboot it eith CD as first preference and restore via it.....
Or just insert your OS bootable disc and repair your OS......
I am not whether this two things works or not!!!!
