BSOD on waking laptop from sleep, error 0x000000E1

    Hi guys,

I've been getting BSODs very frequently over the last 3 days; they happen almost immediately every time I start my computer up from sleep mode and once the computer has restarted, it works fine until I put it to sleep again. My laptop is 2 years old and this is the first time this has happened.
I have since deleted any programs that had been installed recently, have checked the computer for viruses and have checked and installed all available updates for my computer. I don't think I had made any changes before this started happening.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome

Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:

    • Click on the Start
    • Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
    • When it opens, go to File, Save
    • Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
    • Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
    • Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder
    • Upload the .zip file here.

    Thanks

    Problematic Software:
    Code:
    1. Start Menu\Programs\McAfee Public:Start Menu\Programs\McAfee Public
    2. Start Menu\Programs\Norton Security Scan Public:Start Menu\Programs\Norton Security Scan Public
    3. Start Menu\Programs\PC Tools Security Public:Start Menu\Programs\PC Tools Security Public
    4. Start Menu\Programs\Spybot - Search & Destroy Public:Start Menu\Programs\Spybot - Search & Destroy Public
You are having way too many security programs. Microsoft Security Essentials is good alone for
extra security Malware Bytes is excellent.

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows
    Malwarebytes - The Free version
Good and Free system security combination.

McAfee and Norton are a known cause to BSoDs, Spybot is good at detecting certain stuff but it
slows down the PC and corrupts stuff in the comp. I have no information on PC tools security still
    suggest you to uninstall it.

Use the McAfee Removal Tool to remove all its components.

If the removal tool does not help: try uninstalling with Revo Uninstallers Advanced Mode
(Uninstall PC Tools, Spybot and the Norton Scan with Revo)

Run the System File Checker to scan the integrity of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible

Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it

Reduce the items at start up. Keep nothing except MSE.
    Startup Programs - Change
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Let us know the results and further BSoDs. We'll do more troubleshooting if required.

You might also want to update to the latest drivers for your graphic card.
The ones I see here are drivers from 2010
    Code:
    Driver	c:\windows\system32\drivers\atikmdag.sys (8.1.1.949, 5.92 MB (6,204,928 bytes), 17/02/2010 8:28 PM)
    Follow this method for re-installation:
    1. Download and install Driver Sweeper:
      |MG| Driver Fusion (Driver Sweeper) 1.2.0 Download
    2. Download the auto-detect tool for AMD.
      AMD Driver Autodetect
    3. Boot into Safe Mode from Advanced Boot Options:
      Advanced Boot Options
    4. Type in Driver Fusion in Search
    5. Remove all drivers
    6. Boot normally now, and install the latest drivers from the
      auto-detect program you downloaded.

Source Driver Reference Table | atikmdag.sys
ATI Video driver (remove the Catalyst Control Center and only install the Display Driver)
    AMD Support & Drivers

    And your sound drivers:

    Code:
    Driver	c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtkvhd64.sys (6.0.1.5964, 1.92 MB (2,013,856 bytes), 17/02/2010 8:31 PM)
    Source | Driver Reference Table
RTKVHD64.sys | Realtek High Definition Audio Function Driver
    Realtek

Did you complete the steps provided? Did the BSoDs reoccur?

Thanks for all your help koolkat77! The BSoDs stopped occurring after I uninstalled McAfee, so I'm guessing that was the problem. :)
