Yesterday I gotten 4 times of BlueScreen when I am doing language installation (updates from Microsoft) and with my external hdd turn on.

Fearing that it is my Ext HDD is the cause, I turned off the power and let my computer run for a night. Surprisingly, there's no sign of BSOD at all.

Earlier on, I started installing the language with my ext HDD not turning on, I then gotten the blue screen.

After restarting the computer and check under whats the problem, this is what it said:

You're welcome.

Update these drivers to latest:

adfs adfs.SYS Mon Nov 03 11:48:14 2008
wacommousefilter wacommousefilter.sys Fri Feb 16 13:12:17 2007
WacomVKHid WacomVKHid.sys Thu Feb 15 18:10:54 2007

See if there's a bios update for the motherboard too, and install. Disable bios caching in the bios settings.
If overclocking, return to default speed.

Thank you so TG.

I will try update the BIOS using this site:
DFI LANParty:The Best OC Platform! Overclock, Motherboard, Intel, AMD

However, which one should I use?
AMI BIOS Update Guideline using Ez_flash3264 Ver 001 ? I never did a BIOS update before tho.

Oh yah, which program can I install to find out what is my mobo model?

As for Wacom, I recently just did a installation from the site tho. I'm quite certain it is the latest driver, I reckon.

But why is it when I install the language, it will occur this situation?

Appreciated.

I would suggest running Driver Verifier to see if we can force the system to give up the name of the offending driver. Please follow these instructions exactly:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Automatically select unsigned drivers" and click "Next"
If no drivers show up, then select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line.

Thanks TG.

I try to remove Wacom software and run the backup again. It is weird that it only occur when I am doing back up. Argh..

I'm still using M-Audio Delta 66 which I bought it from my ex coll for SGD400 (i think) around year 2003. I thought my SC give way when I just install my new heatsink till I move to another PCI slot. (darn.. Thought I can get a new soundcard!)

I do not use Pro Tools for a long time. But I am a Cubase and Samplitude user tho.

Sad to say M-Audio no longer support MidiSport 2x2 for Win 7 64bit, I have to either sell it away cheaply.
MOTU is great stuff! Is it this: MOTU.com - Traveler-mk3 Overview

Am looking at Focusrite Sapphire 24 Focusrite Audio Engineering | US Site | Products | Saffire | Saffire PRO 24

Needed with MIDI support, volume control for stereo output and headphone i/p with volume control too.

Yes, that is my Motu unit only mine is not the mk3 version. Mk3 has reverb built in which I wouldn't ever use anyhow.

But ya, you still have this driver and it's most likely the issue since you already remove the others:

adfs adfs.SYS Mon Nov 03 11:48:14 2008

Tara, please give me a break here with this. So may times you put this when it isn't needed or called for.

His driver issue is nothing that Microsoft can help or fix. It's an Adobe issue.

----------------------

Pboong -

You can likely leave Photoshop CS4 installed because I have that and do not have the driver in question on my system. It's likely from other Adobe software because I also have Audition, Flash, Premiere Pro CS4 and still do not have that file.

Maybe you have Acrobat or Reader installed that owns the file. You can Google it to maybe find out more detail.

If you're interested in stopping bsod, I would remove all Adobe software as cleanly as possible and get rid of that driver, to test. Then add what you want one by one until you see it return. And then you know your issue.

As far as production here goes, I'm a solo guitar artist. Really very much into music like Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Yngwai Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Liquid Tension Experiment - that kind of thing. I play bass too but guitar is my main thing. So I have a home studio here based on the Motu unit.

I shall uninstall the Adobe, reboot and install back. Hoping this will fix the issue. Hoping no more BSOD again.

Nice... I played guitar for a while only and never practise much. My fingers are too stiff tho. I wish I could have practise harder. =)
