System Interrupts..Causing high cpu& net cutoff

Hi, just wondering if anybody is having the same problem, or knows how to fix.

Running Windows 7 64-bit

Every so often (has been once day sometimes) my computer decides the start performing very slowly.

The CPU hits around 90% and stays around that figure, dropping and increasing slighty.

Using the resource monitor, I can see its the System Interrupts causing the issue, but this doesn't tell you what caused the interrupts.

At the same time my wireless adapter appears to go down, as I lose connection to the internet.
To fix the issue I have to power down completely, and boot back up. The machine is then fine for an random peroid of time. Sometimes the rest of the day, sometimes an hour. I also receive the same problem sometimes syncing with my iphone

I'm using the NETGEAR WG111v2 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter #3 with the lastest version from the website. I'm not sure if this adapter is the problem, I just think it is based on the fact the internet drops at the same time.

Although I also receive the same problem sometimes syncing with my iphone.

Hi.

Update your chipset/motherboard drivers from the manufacturers site and take things from there.

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...nuID=1&LanID=0

Install RAID, sound, chipset.

There have been quite a few problems reported with your wireless adaptor. But this post seems to have a solution. WN111v2 and Windows 7 - Page 2 - NETGEAR Forums

Hi Geo,

Cheers for the reply, but I looked at the site, but couldn't tell which I needed. I'm not using the motherboards sound (have sound card) so would I still need the audio update? Same with graphic's (using 9500 GT)

The RAID I wasn't sure about that? What will updating that one do?

Sorry bout that, you are correct. Unfortunately there is no Windows 7 support from Netgear for your WG111v2 as yet. In fact no updates from Netgear since March of 05,. But there are some Microsoft updates for it.

From what I read about this problem the Windows 7 default drivers sometimes don't work correctly and you need to get them from the Netgear site instead. Then you need to go through the procedure outlined in the link below to uninstall them first.

This dropped connection complaint for wg111v2 is all over the internet. One of the fixes described was to uninstall the Windows 7 default driver version then reinstall the Netgear version.

There are also some Microsoft updates for WG111V2 that may help with this problem. Follow the directions on this post. http://forum1.netgear.com/showpost.p...78&postcount=5
