Norton - System Restore

Windows 7.
Norton Antivirus 2009.
Norton Antivirus 2010.

I realize this forum is not about Norton.

I did an upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium.

Since then, I can't do a System Restore.

I did find from a search that if I turn of a part of Norton calld Tamper Protection - that I can do a System restore. Not difficult, but a pain.

I mistakenly figured that if I put Norton 2010 on computer, that Norton has fixed this problem. Not.

Yes, there are many free Antivirus out there but I have 550 days of Norton already paid for.

Anyone that has Norton have this issue? System Restore does not work unless one opens Norton and turns off Tamper Protection?

I have heard of this problem with Norton also, so yes I believe your suspicions are correct.

THIS company (Norton) IS in the software business.

How could they screw up a product?

How many customers that have Norton and don't know this?


Yes, there are free antivirus.

But how can a 'smart' software company produce a product that has a 'defect'?
