Startup problem.

Ok here's the problem, I just installed a new Motherboard and CPU, Window's opens up and works, just not all the drivers are installed, but everytime I restart to get the changes to take affect something happens to make me either do a hard reboot, or when it gets to the Starting windows screen It restarts and I have to do a Start-up repair which makes me do a system restore.

I need help asap and I don't know what to do, I suspect a driver is to blame.

Install the drivers one at a time and create a new system restore after each reboot if you find that particular driver works. Once you find the conflicting driver, find a different version to use if possible.

This method will allow you to save the installation of working drivers and will point out which driver is to blame if you're lucky.

The only problem with that is, Windows does it's own driver installation when it detects new hardware and I can't seem to stop that to install each one individually which I think is the problem.

Ok update, the suggestion didn't work as when I restarted it got to the windows starting screen and froze and hard rebooted forcing me to do another start-up repair.

Now here's the kicker, I shut down the system, took out the hdd that had 7 on it, and put in my old hdd that has Vista Home premium, and it started up fine all the drivers installed without a problem and restarted perfectly. So there's some driver within the 7 hdd that's stopping from everything from working as well.

So my question is if I take what I need off the older hdd with Vista and put it on the bigger one, then clean off the old one and do a fresh install with 7 and make it the master, should everything be good?

Sorry to double post, but what drivers are needed for start-up I want to go into the device manager and uninstall most of the drivers to see if that'll fix my problem.

Have you tried going to MSconfig and doing a selective startup? This will let you know if the core drivers are OK.
