Unmountable Boot Volume error

Hi guys, first of all like to say great forum, I just hope you can help.

I turned on my laptop this morning to find that when windows was loading it went for ages then restarted, I then went into the menu to select safe mode, restart with the last known settings that worked etc and nothing worked.

I did try "repair" when loading repair it just comes up a black screen with my cursor which I can move but the screen just stays all the time.

I managed to then select "don't restart on crash" which let me see what the error message is which basically comes up a big blue screen saying unmountable boot volume error.

Toshiba didn't give me a windows 7 or repair disk so im kind of really stuck.

I have got access to another computer though with a flash drive etc.

You are between a rock and a hard place. You can (given that you have another computer) download a trial of win 7 (assuming you have a legit serial number) to do a repair install, but the download will be win 7 ultimate.

You are going to need an image of the version you have the serial number for.

Once you have the image boot from it into safe mode (F-8) and go to the device manager to display tab. Delete the video driver and re-start. win 7 should find a working video driver that will at least get you into a normla boot.

Hi mate thanks for your help, the situation right now is I got it to load up using the option to "restore to factory condition" after going into "repair your computer"

What happens now is when windows seven is loading up it comes up the screen "windows is finalising instal" and it just loads and loads. I have managed to get past this by pressing escape but obviously for this to come up every time its still not full installed.

Now when I f8 repair isn't an option as the system thinks it's doing fine.

Any ideas if I can boot something while the operating system is partially running?
