BSoD when plugging in Konnekt 6
I have tried contacting TC Electronic and posted on their forums, to no avail so far, so I am hoping people here can help me.
I recently purchased the TC Desktop Konnekt 6 (mic/instrument preamp audio interface) and every time I connect it to my laptop via firewire, it crashes my computer shortly after. I have updated all of my drivers (including my firewire driver), I installed the latest version of TC Near (the interface program, allegedly compatible with Win7 64-bit), tried using a power strip AND direct wall socket for the power supply, reformatting my HDD, scanned for viruses etc, made sure TC Near was formatted correctly for the hardware I was connecting... I don't know what else to do.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Dell Studio 1555, 4 GB memory, Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.10 GHz. I will attach a picture of one of the many BSoD's I have received, although the stop error code is always 0x10D, parameter 1 always being 05 or 08, from the ones I have seen. Also attached are the three most recent minidumps.
Also, for the few minutes between connecting the firewire and crashing, in my Devices & Printers display, the TC Near/Konnekt 6 are listed under "Unspecified" instead of under Devices. This is my first audio interface I have ever used, so I am not sure of that is unusual or another sign of a problem. The Konnekt 6 uses a 6-pin connection, and my laptop uses a 4-pin 1394 firewire port -- I bought the proper cable by Belkin at Best Buy.
Apparently the Konnekt 6 (and other audio interfaces) have trouble with Win7, especially 64-bit, and I have looked around the TC forums but no one seems to have the exact same problem as I do, so any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
