Blue Screen Crash (Event ID 41)- HP G60

Hi,

I have been having random blue screen crashes whenever I run videos for over about two minutes. I tried to update my video driver, but it still crashes. My laptop originally had Vista but I decided to install Windows 7 a couple of months ago. It only started crashing once I got 7.

Try testing your temperatures with Speedfan. Is it possible it is overheating?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it usually gets really hot when it BSODs. After installing speedfan, the GPU temperature is about 75C when its idle and the core is 68-70C. What do you suggest to reduce the temperature and avoid overheating?

Short-term solution: open the side of the case, and aim a fan inside at the motherboard and video card.

Longer term: clean out the dust, rearrange the cables to let the air flow better.

If you simply cannot improve air flow, it is time to invest in a fan for the case, or even a new case itself.
