Windows 7 - Change desktop icon

| | Change desktop icon I want to change desktop icons but when I click on 'personalize', and then 'change desktop icons' I only see five computer icons and none of my own even though I have the user files box checked. Any help? |

| | Hi bargor and welcome to Windows 7 Forums  That's perfectly normal. The method you describe only affects the following (see image):.  For the others, you need right-click the icon, select Properties, select the Shortcut tab and click on Change Icon... If there are any alternative icons to display, you should see them there. Just click on the one you want to select it and then click OK twice to close the dialogue panels. In some, but not all, cases you may be prompted for administrative consent before an icon can be changed. For example:   |

If you mean that the icon you want to use is not there when you select the desktop icon and click on "Change Icon", then you would just need to click on "Browse", then navigate to and select the .ico file that you want to use for the icon. |
