    Something Jacked My Taskbar !

Hoping someoone here can help with a permanently locked taskbar... I mean I've tried everything... Registry fixes changing the values, tweaking apps, creating new 'administrators' and trying to use their password to unlock the damage. I just have no frickin' idea but all I do know is that this little taskbar is kicking my ass and it's really starting to get to me.

I do have access to the context menu's but the "lock the taskbar" option is checked and faded to a light grey, symbolizing how messed up this thing is. Anybody have an idea...? I'm running on Win 7 64 bit Home premium with 4 G's of memory. I can't think of anyway to restore it ( not an option ), or to re install the damn thing since it all comes as one big piece.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks you guys -

Well with all you've been doing I would try this,

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Tagen,
I think yhu have misconception as to what a system restore is.

This is perfectly understandable. The name is a little misleading.

    System Restore

And I knew the minute I hit the submit key and realized that I forgot to mention I used SFC twice, that someone would remind me. All my system files were healthy. I gotta tell you that this little taskbar is really starting to make unhappy.

I don't know, maybe it was something I did when I was drunk and on my laptop, just no clue. But thanks for the good advice - appreciate it ! Let me know if you think of anything else.

Have you tried System Restore or is that not an option?

    You could try Repair Install

Or see if replacing your explorer will help, I don't know what version you have but here's a copy of mine Home Premium 64 bit.

Really wanted to say thanks to you guys - I appreciate the way you both went looking to help me ... wish I could say that it worked though. That reg key doesn't exist on my windows 7 64Bit - which is so odd because vishal is always the perfectionist when it comes to the registry. Of course my edition is home premiuum and the one he was thinking of might have been 'Ultimate' .

Anyway I attached a pic of the registry and unless I'm missing something, I'm not seeing it. Maybe my eyes are tired.

Thanks again to both of you, and to karlsnooks... you're right about drinking and laptop driving. Terrible terrible...

    Thanks, Tagen

You may want to try that Repair Install you would have been done with it by now, it keeps all your programs and data.
