    Reasons to be cheerful

I thought I'd post this here so more people would read it as I wanted to thank some people publicly.

Up until a few weeks ago I had never even looked at the customization forum.
Then I had a whim that I should have a sig so I came and asked on that thread and was immediately presented with three great sigs (Arc, THW and Kirsch:))
Then I looked around the forum a bit and read about custom themes but didn't really take it in or think about trying one.

Next news, I'm on Trillian/Messenger talking to Boohbah and he tells me about Mr Grim's "Concept" theme and raves about it.
So with a great deal of IM help from Sergio Garcia (late of this Parish) and Boohbah I've got it on, plus amazing glossy blue transparent folders (also Mr. Grim I think)
I now can't wait to get home and log on cos it looks so cool and subjectively it feels easier and slicker to use.
This'll probably wear off. I've only had it a week:)

Obviously I'd like to thank Mr. Grim for his tremendous work.
However, if it hadn't been for Boohbah and Sergio, "baby talking" me through it, I don't think I would have been able to do it. And I wouldn't have bothered cos it looked complicated

That's what I joined this forum for. Two people I've never met have given me a whole new aspect on the way I enjoy my pc. You can't beat that can you?

    John you are welcome :),
since that evening of customization i've learnt of another method for changing theme packages its called 7tsp and couldn't be easier to use. Mr grim has a tutorial on his site HERE and the theme changer is also available HERE, the theme packs to use with 7tsp are available HERE.
A long time a go i had a dissaster trying to change the system clock and i had to clean install i lost the shell 32.,since then i only installed the main theme, folders and wmp skin as i could do that easily. this new theme loader has automatically changed my fwd/back buttons, wmp skin, all system icons logon pic and more ! all this was done at the click of a button a couple of times and two reeboots later it was done (the wmp skin im using here came from the new mr grim Annihilator theme the rest is concept theme!)
    go on skin up!

I'd be very interested in that boohbah. The method of installing a theme you and Sergio talked me through was quite complicated and I think I'd struggle to remember how to do it again.
Another thing that worries me is; how do you know whether the theme is any good or not?. I mean not just good looking but well made and won't mess up on you.

    Thanks again, J:)

That's a great way of putting it. Some of my best friends live halfway around the world. Though I've never met them in person, and maybe never will, they've added so much to my life that I can never hope to thank them. :)

Yes, it's a great feelling prof. These guys were really patient with me and it started on here but ended up on IM so there was no rep or glory involved.
Also I just tried Mr Grim's 7tsp and it makes it so easy to install one of these themes. It literally is follow the tutorial, install the 7tsp to your desktop, install the theme, run 7tsp and choose the theme-a couple of reboots and that's it. Amazing. It not only looks really cool but it's cleaner and easier to use I'm sure.:)
