    Iconpackager changed some default icons


    hi. i dont now where to ask this.

    i have a problem using iconpackager. the program changed some default icons.

    look at the screenshot

    for example, the shorcut overlay icon is changed. and didn't changed it. the program is changing icons by his own.

    can someone help me. i want to resolve that. and sorry for my english

    another questions.

    i'm trying to change my system tray icons. i take ownership of the appropriate dll, but when i try to copy the new one, it says that the file or the folder is open in another program and to close the file/folder and try again.

    what program? please help me. i really want to change system tray icons.

    sorry for my english.

    This isn't your answer, I know.
    I once tried Icon Packager (on 7) as it worked OK on my XP system. It changed all my .exe files to the Games (chess piece) icon. Then added overlays where I'd removed them etc.
    I un-installed Icon packager.
    I now do it the "manual" way i.e. edit my own files.

    I make copies of my system files and then replace the icons I want to change in them using Res Hack 3.5.2 or Anolis Resourcer. I then rename the system file (add "old" to end of file name) then paste my now "modified" system files into their original folder.

    If I just want to replace a file type icon I generally use File Types Manager from Nirsoft.
