Windows 7: Is there a way to prevent a window from automatically expanding?

Is there a way to prevent a window from automatically expanding?

If I drag a window close to the top of the screen, the system automatically assumes I want to expand that window, and it expands it automatically. Is there a way to disable this?

That feature is called Aero Snap. Turn it off if you like.
