Problem with broken and missing icons

Hello! I've got a problem with my icons. I've made a format of my laptop, I've installed Vista 64 bit and then upgraded it to win 7(64bit) home premium. Now in several pages on the internet (I use chrome) and in some places my laptop (f.ex. gadgets or while opening an unknown file) icons are missing. There is shown a broken icon (with red cross) or the one with missing picture(blanc page with a 'landscape' on it).
Is it possible that I'm missing some drivers? or there is something messed up in my registry? Could you please help me?

Heres the problem, you upgraded and things will go wrong. Try a clean install. I will get the tutorial showning how.

I know you do not want to install, again, but it is the best thing to do. Not for this small problem but for the many big ones which will come soon.

I don't mind to do a format again, but for Win 7 I only have an upgrade cd not the whole system. Can I do the clean install with it?

    Thank you for reporting.
You are going to have an excellent OS with a minimum of problems. The way it was done, there would be corruption and problems. Now, go and enjoy; you earned it.
