Force folder view? desktop.ini?

Hi, I have my \User\Downloads folder. Its fine. But I'm always getting different columns. Its trying to guess what I want. I want to force the columns no matter what. Like I only want name, date and type to show. but it always resets. Anyone know how to force it 100% of the time no matter what?

If I right click in the folder and goto Properties, Customize Tab I can change the kind of folder but that never sticks too.

Hello Ken,

By setting a default folder template for all folders using the tutorial below, you will disabled Automatic Folder Type Discovery that is responsible for changing the template like that based on the last file added to the folder. Since you want the Date and type columns, the General Items folder template would be the one you want to make as the default.

Folder Template - Default

Hope this helps,
Shawn
