How about customizing your desktop's wallpaper in a rather unique way.
Thought I'd give it a try - it looks outrageous !!!!!!!!!
I use a nice picture of a south sea island at dusk as my desktop - and I wanted to liven things up a bit. I have a bunch of various "layer selections" that I made with Photoshop. Just for goofs I loaded up my desktop .jpg picture and added some little "martians" to the sky (by moving a few copies of a "martian alien" selection onto the desktop background and then "flattening the image") After modifying the image I saved it back in the same folder as the original desktop picture but a gave it a different name.
Then I closed down Photoshop and selected the "Personalize" option (by right clicking the desktop) and selected both my original and the modified desktop pictures for wallpaper and set the "switch time interval" to 10 seconds so the two picture would alternate as my desktop image.
It looks really cool - as you would expect, the "martians" appear and disappear every 10 seconds but the coolest thing (to me) is that there is
NO FLICKER or any other sign that the two desktop pictures have switched (other than the martians) because the images are otherwise identical. The effect is that of the "martians" fading in and then, in 10 seconds, fading out

Like I've got nothing better to do with my time ??????
