Disable thumbnail + help me with google

How do I stop thumbnails from popping up as can be seen in this image in the bottom left corner:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../thumbnail.png

Does anyone know how to disable this very frustrating google feature where every time you type into the google bar (using Mozilla) you are given a list of past searches or a list of words starting with whatever letter you type?

I have disabled autofill in google preferences...but it doesn't stop all these drop downs and auto suggestions:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...s/dropdown.png
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../dropdown2.png

Finally...how do you post an image here? I can't see the insert image icon here anywhere starting this new thread...that's why I post links only...

    thanks

Posting an image is easy. Use the attachment icon (shaped like a paper clip) on the reply form.

Could be mistaken but I think there was an option for autocomplete in Internet Explorer's settings that also allowed it to be applied to other windows and not just IE. Try unchecking that?

I think you're thinking of a different thumbnail issue ryo.

As for the google issues I mentioned in my OP...that's sorted.

It's weird...the Firefox icon in my task bar....when I hover my mouse pointer over it a thumbnail appears. I have just installed for the 2nd time. The first time I installed and hovered on the Firefox icon (or any icon down there in the task bar) I never had a thumbnail preview...only a text preview.

That's a Win7 Aero thing iirc, argh I can't remember the name... jump lists? No, not just the lists. I take it you don't want any preview thumbnails at all? Hope this tutorial helps:

Actually I'm getting quite used to it now...it's not a bad feature.

But it's good to maybe know how to turn it off.

Option 3 is the one I was after.

    Thanks
